Learn to dive

So you want to learn to dive but not sure where to start? There are many options out there. Which one should you choose? Well, for the most part the major organizations offer pretty similar beginner diver training. If you are looking for something that is available almost anywhere where there is water too deep to stand up in you can pretty much count on a PADI or SSI dive centre to be close by.

When choosing a dive centre, just remember that you typically get what you pay for. A dive centre running budget courses needs to make up the money lost elsewhere. This usually means overcrowded and rushed courses to enable the dive centre to get as many people through as possible. While the main training bodies do what they can to make sure that standards are adhered to, in the end there are always people out there willing to cut corners to save a dollar. It's definitely worth doing a little research and try to talk to people that have had experience with the dive centre.
